School session times

 

Entry to school between 8:45a.m -8:55a.m. 

School closes: 3:30p.m

 

It is important that all children arrive at school and leave safely.  In order that this is achieved, we ask that parents who bring their child to school by car park responsibly, remembering the need for unobstructed vision for pedestrians on the school's side of Turncroft Road.

 

We encourage as many families as possible to walk to school.  A shelter has been built on the front playground to help in times of bad weather.

Please note that all children from Reception up to Year 4 must be collected from school by someone who is over the age of 16, for safety reasons.

 

If your child is collected by an adult at the close-of-school on a regular basis, please inform the school office of any changes to normal arrangements to enable us to dismiss our pupils safely.

 

It is important that children arrive at school punctually, between 8:45 am and 8:55 am. From 8:45 am, the school doors will open and children are invited to enter the building. Doors will close at 8:55a.m. 

 

Please be aware that the school is not responsible for any children on school grounds prior to 8:45am. Should you require assistance in the morning, our Breakfast Club is open from 8:00am, for a minimal fee.

Appointments

 

If your child has an appointment during the school day, please inform the class teacher in writing prior to the appointment.

 

Where possible, please arrange for appointments to take place out of school hours.

Leave of absence requests
 
Changes in Government regulations now mean that from September 2013, Head Teachers are no longer able to authorise any leave of absence during term time, unless there are specific exceptional circumstances.
 
These include:
  • members of the armed forces returning from active service
  • the death of an immediate family member
  • emergency services personnel who are unable to take leave at certain times of year
  • a family requiring support during a time of acute crisis
